Footwear Sizing and Comfort

Footwear sizing
For most of our styles of sheepskin footwear we sell a full range of sizes, as many as ten for some of our sheepskin boots styles plus child sizes.
For slip-in designs with no backs, there is no need for quite so many sizes. The difference between individual sizes is minimal for the scuff style of slipper. For these types we present five sizes, Small to X-Large.
We provide an international footwear conversion tool on our main sales website that allows you to convert between UK, US, European and Japanese sizes, for both men and women's sizing.
Note that most country footwear standards have a separate scale of sizes for men and women. As most of our slippers and boots can be worn by men or women, we use US Mens sizing for all our footwear.
You may find variations in footwear size conversions from different manufacturers. Some sizes do not convert exactly to those of another scale. Some companies may choose to round numbers up, other may round down. We have tried to use the values most widely used.
Due to variations in sizing, we also provide assistance on-line with converting from feet measurements to our sizes. These are specific to each and every slipper and boot style.
An example conversion for our size 6 (US Mens)
Men's sizes:
UK: 5 Euro: 38
Women's sizes:
UK: 5.5 Euro: 38.5 US: 7
Unisex sizes:
240mm or Japan size 24
As you can see it can seem quite complex but hopefully our conversion tool makes it easy plus converting from bare foot measurements is now even simpler.
If you are unsure, please send us an e-mail and we will convert a size for you. See main site for contact details or use our feedback form.
Sheepskin / Lambskin Footwear Comfort
When you first try on your new sheepskin footwear you may find the sheep skin wool pile presses firmly against your feet. This can make the new boots or slippers feel a little tight. After a few days of wear you will find the inners start to loosen as the woolpile moulds to the shape of your feet.
If the footwear is initially very tight, for example your big toe is pushing into the skin, you shouldn't continue to wear them but exchange them for a larger size.
Conversely, if the slippers or boots are initially quite loose, they will loosen further with wear to a certain extent.
For maximum benefit, sheepskin footwear should be worn bare footed, especially indoors. For use in cold outdoor conditions you may wish to wear a pair of socks, the properties of wool socks will compliment the lambskin inners better than most synthetic fibres.
